Montreal based Kalabante Productions, which was created by our friend Yamousa Bangoura, is coming to Winnipeg with their show “Won’Ma” and you don’t want to miss this show!

“Won’Ma Afrique”, which means “our Africa” in the Sousou language, will be a smaller version of “Africa in the Circus” adapted for the Montreal Council of the Arts tour of 2017-2018 whose Kalabanté Productions are part of it.

It is a highly colourful creation, which was presented at the Festival Nuits d’Afrique in 3 editions for each consecutive year of 2014-2015-2016. This show symbolizes the strength, agility and the joy of living of African youth. 8 amazing acrobats, along with their musicians, run their authentic choreographies on the frantic rhythmes of djembes from Guinea. Upon the melodious sound of the Kora, Yamoussa takes us into an elsewhere where radiates the diversity of African traditional arts combined with the virtuosity of the North American modern circus performance.
